Gregory "Greg" Michael Grange 1946 - 2002

Gregory "Greg" Michael Grange, 56, Portal, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002, after a long illness while vacationing in Saskatchewan.

He was born March 14, 1946, in Machias, Maine the son of Norman George Marie Eloise (Davis) Grange. He was reared and educated in Maine and graduated from high school in 1964. After graduation he attended college for a year and a half at New Hampshire University.

He married Lindalee Schmitz on July 8, 1983, at Chapel Hill in Cold Spring, MN. After their marriage the couple lived in Rhode Island, Maine, and New York. In 1996, they moved to Portal, ND, where Greg worked as a U.S.D.A Food Inspector to Imports in Portal.

Greg loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Portal. He also was a member of the Burke County Fair Board Association.

Survivors: wife, Lindalee Grange, Portal; mother, Marie Sanborn, Machias, ME; father, Norman Grange, New Port Richey, FL; brothers, Norman Grange Jr. and his wife Claudia, Farmington, NM, Peter Grange, Machias, ME, and Mark Grange, Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Eloise Reynolds, East Machias, ME, and Ann Hayward, Machias, ME; half-brother, Tyler Grange and his wife Dee, Raleigh, NC; 10 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, step father Gil Sanborn, uncle, Michael Cappy, Aunt Billy, Uncle Clem and his dog Snowy.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Bowbells City Hall, Bowbells, ND.

Memorial Church Service will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, Minnesota on September 9, at 7 p.m.

Another Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2002 at the Machias Community of Christ Church, (RLDS), Machias, Maine at 10 a.m., officiated by Elder John Woodman. Graveside service will follow.

Visitation: Tuesday, September, 3, 2002, from 10 a.m. until service time at the Bowbells City Hall.

Cremation will take place after the funeral will burial of the cremains at the Kennebec Cemetery in Maine.
