Phyllis Gorze 1930- 2006 Phyllis was born on June 5, 1930, to Wilbur and Edna (Gustafson) Loughead, in Kenmare, ND. Their family moved throughout the Midwest during her early school years, eventually settling in Minot. She graduated from Model High School in 1948 and furthered her education at Minot State College. On April 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Gorze at First Lutheran Church, Minot. The couple made their home in the Minot area. As well as being a homemaker, Phyllis briefly sold jewelry for Park Lane and Sarah Coventry Jewelry. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, decorating for the holidays, playing bridge, caring for her flowers, ceramics, and spending time with her grandchildren and friends. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and belonged Beta Sigma Phi sorority, both of Minot. She is survived by: Husband, Kenneth J. Gorze, Minot: children, Kimberly (Vern) Korslien, Minot: Gregory (Teri) Gorze, Colorado Springs, CO; Jeffory (Lolly) Gorze, Minot; brother, Dell (Carol) Loughead, Minot: sisters: Sylvia (Bill) Kickert, Minot, Barbara (Tom) Bertino, Saratoga Springs, NY, Yvonne Christenson, Baton Rouge, LA; eight grandchildren: Johan Korslien, Jordan Korslien, Jacob Korslien; Kyle Gorze, Erin Gorze,, Alexander Gorze, Nicholas Gorze and Landon Gorze and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Edna Loughead and brother Lowell. Visitation: Tuesday, July 25, 2006, from noon until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot Memorials are preferred to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the First Lutheran Church, Minot.
