Peter V. Goetz 1924 - 2007 Pete was born November 3, 1924, the son of Sam and Adeline (Gefroh) Goetz in Selz, ND. He was raised in Anamoose and graduated from Anamoose High School in 1944. Pete enlisted in the United States Navy March 20, 1944. He proudly served his country during WWII on the Battleship USS Massachusetts. He was awarded the American Area Medal, the Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Yeoman Second Class May 20, 1946. Pete was married to Pearl Meyers August 4, 1947, in Minot. They made their home in Minot where he was employed by Widdel's Bakery, Keatings Furniture, and Sears for many years. Pearl passed away April 22, 1996. He continued to reside in Minot and in the fall of 2004, he moved into the Brentmoor. Most recently he resided at the Wellington in Minot. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Moose Lodge, Elks, Knights of Columbus, William G. Carroll American Legion Post, and AMVETS, all of Minot. Music was Pete's passion. He transcribed his own music and
he started his own band, the Pete Goetz Surviving family includes: daughters, Diane (Wayne) Terry, Henderson, NV, and Kathy (Frank) Valenti, Ft. Myers, FL; sons, Tim P. Goetz, Ft. Myers, FL, and Jim (Toni) Goetz, Dickinson; grandchildren, Damon (Jenny) Semingson and Dawn Pfund; Mandy (Scott) Creek, and Tom Delbello; Jade Bach; and Tonja (Mike) Dobies and Mary (Mitchell) Gross; great-grandchildren, Joel and Christopher Semingson; and Liam and Lola Dobies; brothers, Leo (Lois) Goetz, Sun City, AZ, and Dennis (Martha) Goetz, Bogota, Colombia; a few nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Pearl. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, November 7, 2007,
