Clarence F. Goebel 1916 - 2008 Clarence was born on October 12, 1916 in Geyser, Montana, the son of Fred and Sophia (Hohn) Goebel. He was reared and educated in rural Minot and rural Burlington. Clarence entered the United States Army Air Forces on December 4, 1941 and worked as an airplane maintenance technician, serving in the Aleutian Islands. He was discharged on October 29, 1916 with the grade of Tech Sergeant. Upon his discharge, Clarence moved back to the Minot area and over the years, he worked as a mechanic at Ruthville Texaco. After his retirement, he went to work for Jay and Alice Carr, working at North Hill Laundromat and King Coin as a mechanic a relationship that continued until his death. Survivors: brothers, Herbert (Beulah) Goebel, Burlington, ND and Francis (Gerry) Goebel, Minot; sisters, Marie Fuchs, Minot, Dolores (Tony) Feist, Logan, Sally Melland, Williston. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Theodore, John and Norbert, sister, Elvina, brothers-in-law, Ralph Fuchs and Donald Bruels, sister-in-law, Agnes Goebel. Memorial Service: Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND Visitation: from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
