Merle Glasoe 1919 - 2010 Merle T. Glasoe was born March 21, 1919, a son of Otto and Clara (Siggerud) Glasoe, in Upland Township of Divide County, near Noonan, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended a country school there. As a young adult, he assisted his father with the operation of the family farm. Merle enlisted in the United States Army February of 1945. He proudly served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged following an injury to his leg in October of 1946. Merle married Patricia A. Phillippe August 1, 1948, in Noonan, ND. They made their home on a farm near Wildrose, ND. Together they farmed and raised livestock. In 1978, they moved to Bottineau, ND. While living in Bottineau, Merle continued to farm his land for several years. In March of 2006, they moved to Minot and resided at Edgewood Vista. Merle and Pat were married 58 years prior to Pat passing on April 24, 2007. He was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Noonan, and First Lutheran Church, Bottineau. He was also a member of the American Legion in Crosby and in Bottineau, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Crosby. As a young man, he loved playing baseball. He also enjoyed playing cards with the neighbors, bowling, dancing, and singing at family get togethers. Merle loved the sun and in his later years, spent many hours listening to music and working on his tan on his son, Randy’s deck. Immediately following the funeral service, please join the family for a time of fellowship and lunch in the fellowship hall. The graveside service will take place in the spring.
