Annie L. Gillmore 1915 - 2005 Annie L. Gillmore, 90, Minot, died Friday, August 12, 2005 in a Mandan Hospital. Annie was born on July 26, 1915, rural Barton, the daughter of William (Lan) L. and Emma (Scott) Coleman. She was reared and educated in Barton and graduated from Barton High School. She then attended a secretarial college in Chicago, Ill and worked for a bank in Aurora, Ill before moving back to Barton. On October 25, 1935 in Barton she married Chester H. Gillmore in Barton. They resided in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky, where he held various occupations and moved to Rugby in 1953. Chester started to work for Farmers Union Insurance and Real Estate and she helped him in these businesses. While in Rugby, she and her husband, Chester, started the Rugby Credit Union, which they operated for a number of years. They moved to Minot in 1961, where she helped Chester with Farmers Union Insurance and Real Estate, and owning and operating Royal Realty. She helped him found Discount Mobile Homes in Minot. They retired in 1977. They began farming during the summer months, making it their
hobby, spending their winters in Kingman, AZ. Survivors: son, Clayton H. (Marilyn) Gillmore, Minot; daughters, Joanne (Fred) Steffen, Kingman, AZ and Sue (Gary) Metcalfe, O'Fallon, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Joe (Teresa) Steffen, Andrew Metcalfe, Chet (Janet) Usher, Todd (Tina) Usher, Craig (Tammy) Gillmore, Timothy (Kandis) Gillmore, William (Kara) Gillmore, Jeffery (Lorilee) Gillmore, Deborah (Chuck) Haselman, Donna (John) Toney, Leah Dillon and Colleen (Bob) Kastner; 24 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, William (Lan) and Emma Coleman; husband, Chester, sister, Mary Pearson, brothers, Frank, Clayton and James Coleman. Memorial Service: Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot, ND Burial: Private Visitation: Tuesday, August 16, 2005, from 9 a.m until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
