Lynn W. Geyer 1922 - 2011 Lynn Ward Geyer was born on May 25, 1922 on the family farm in Renville County, near Donnybrook, ND to George and Blanche (Ward) Geyer. He was raised by his grandparents, Ed and Annie Ward, until the age of 12. His mother passed away and he moved home with his father and siblings, where he grew up and worked for neighbors. At a country school picnic he met his best friend, the love of his life, Julia Solem. They were married on June 10, 1945 at Sidney, MT. Following their marriage they lived in Minot, where he worked various jobs. They later moved to his grandparents’ farm, where they farmed for several years and raised five children, David, Raymond, Judy, Edward and the late Jeffrey Geyer. Lynn was a member of the Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND and the Moose Lodge in Minot. Lynn loved to do mechanic work and enjoyed buying cars, fixing them up and selling them. He owned numerous cars over the years. He also enjoyed camping with his wife and family. He deeply loved his dear wife, Julia, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful man, who will be deeply missed. Those who shared in his life, Loving wife of 66 years, Julia, Minot; children, David Geyer and Raymond Geyer, both of Kenmare; Judy (Kevin) Zietz, Rugby, and Edward (Cynthia) Geyer, Minot; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ione Johnson, Renton, WA and Ruth Streitz, Foxholm, ND; brother, Harvey (Jeanie) Geyer, Minot; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Lynn was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Geyer; daughter-in-law, Joan Geyer; his parents, George and Blanche; sister, Altha DuPaul; brothers-in-law, Frances DuPaul and LeRoy Streitz, and a niece, Janice DuPaul. Funeral: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND. Visitation Tuesday, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: First Lutheran Cemetery, Carpio, ND.
