Joan Geyer • 1940 - 2007 Joan was born on February 24, 1940, the daughter of John and Marcella (Schammel) Ackerman in Kenmare, ND. She was raised and educated in the Kenmare area, graduating from St. Agnes Catholic School in 1958. In 1956, Joan was married to Elmer D. Johnson, and later divorced. She was united in marriage to David Geyer on November 1, 1982. The couple made their home in Kenmare, where Joan worked as a bookkeeper for the Farmers Union Oil Company. Joan enjoyed bowling, crafting , crocheting and knitting. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and the WIBC 600 club.
