Anna Gerle 1921- 2006 Anna Ida Grosz was born on December 4, 1921, the daughter of Chris and Sophia (Ziegler) Grosz on a farm near Kief, ND. She was raised on the farm and educated at a country school in the area. As a young adult, she assisted her family with the operation of the family farm. Anna was once married to Fred Hoffer. From this marriage, five sons and four daughters were born. They had resided on a farm near Keif, ND, for a number of years. They later moved into Minot, where she worked various jobs. Anna married Kenneth Gerle on February 14, 1964, in Minot, ND. They made their home in Minot for a number years before moving to Anamoose, ND, in the mid 1970's, where they owned and operated the Copper Penny Bar and Restaurant for a number of years. They moved back to Minot in 1980's, and have resided there since. She was a former member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot, and currently was a member of Bread of Life Lutheran Church, and the VFW Auxiliary of Minot. She enjoyed embroidery, crafts, making dolls, gardening, and flowers. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved life. She was very proud of her family and loved them very much. Everyone was welcome in her home. She was also a hardworking individual who preferred to give than to receive. Surviving family includes: husband of 42 years, Kenneth, Minot; children, Judy Hiller, Burlington, ND, Ronnie Hoffer, Minot, Diana (Dennis) Wittstruck, Grand Rapids, MN, Linda (Donald Midgett) Manning, Austin, TX, Randy (Judy) Hoffer, Devils Lake, ND, Roger (Dorothy) Hoffer, St. John, ND, Debbie (Gary) Gallaher, Atco, NJ, Tim "Bud" Hoffer, Minot, and Richard Hoffer, Minot; stepchildren, Wanda Schooler, Rugby, ND; Ken Gerle Jr., Seattle, WA; Rita Volk, Minot, ND; Tony Gerle, Clarksville, TN; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, sister, Ella Rau, Minot; brothers, Art (Darlene) Grosz, Alvin (Helen) Grosz, and Bobby (Marilyn) Grosz, all of Minot; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alvina Hanson and Agnes VanCampen; brothers, Emil and Eddy Grosz; stepdaughter, Jeannie Gunsch and grandson, Paul Wittstruck. Funeral: Monday, May 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Bread of
