Raymond was born on May 23, 1930, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Reueter) Gergen in Underwood, ND. He was reared and educated in Underwood, graduating from Underwood High School. Following his graduation he attended Minot State College, where he received a bachelors of Arts degree.

On June 28, 1958, Ray was united in marriage to Annette Andre in Franklin, MN. Together they made their home in Minot, where Ray worked in sales.

He was a member of the St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minot. When in good health, Raymond contributed a great deal of time and labor to the church. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by: Wife Annette, Minot, ND: sons: Mike (Kellie) Gergen, Jamestown, ND:, Mark (Julie) Gergen, San Diego, CA, Joe Gergen, Minneapolis, MN, Jim (Barb) Gergen, Minot, ND, John (JoAnne) Gergen, Spring Lake Park, MN, Tom Gergen, Minneapolis, MN, Tim Gergen, Spring Lake Park, MN daughters: Maureen (Arden) Jesz, Minot, ND, Michelle (Bernie) Koronka, Burlington, ND, Teresa (Chance) Haakonson, Avon, MN, Ann (Wes) Kudrna, Dickinson,ND. 30 grandchildren: Brother: Cletus Gergen, Chandler, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sylvester and Damian, Sisters Kathleen and an infant.

Visitation: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 11 until 4 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Vigil Service: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the St. Michael Ukrainian Church, Minot

Funeral Liturgy: Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the St, Michael Ukrainian Church, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Memorials are preferred to the St, Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minot.
