Teri Galusha • 1959 - 2006 Teri Lynn Galusha was born on January 9, 1959, a daughter of Herb and Bernice (Hoey) Galusha in Minot, ND. She was raised in rural Minot and attended Bell School for six years. She then attended Jim Hill Jr. High School and then Minot High School, graduating in 1977. She was employed part time at both the Minot Livestock and Harrington Brothers. For several years she broke and trained horses for people who could not do the job themselves, using a gentle hand and repetition. Her gentle, humane philosophy brought her all the business she could handle. She was also employed at Pinkerton Animal Hospital. In the early 1980's, she became a Federal Crop Adjustor, working in Ward and other surrounding counties. She then attended Minot State University and received her B.S. degree in Finance in 2000. After graduating from MSU, she began employment at Community Action and worked there until ill health forced her to retire. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the Minot Trail Riders, the Mouse River Trail Riders, the ND Rodeo Association, the ND Horsefest Promotions Committee, and the Lucky Horseshoe 4-H club, where she was a 4-H leader for several years. She loved horses, dogs, and all animals. She also enjoyed leather crafting, photography, and pottery. Surviving family includes: her loving and caring mother, Bernice, Minot; significant other, J.T. Rom, Denbigh, ND; special friend, Marvin Sylstad, Minot; her leader dog, Dooley; and many close friends. Teri was preceded in death by her father, Herb; brother, Mark H. Galusha; maternal grandparents, Francis and Helen Hoey; paternal grandparents, Sid and Metta Galusha; and her leader dog, Duke. Memorial Service: Friday, June 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m.
