Bettey Fugere 1938 - 2005

Bettey Fugere, 66, 19 Colton Ave. Burlington, died Friday, April 29, 2005, in a Minot hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Bettey was born June 18, 1938, in Powers Lake, ND, the daughter of Tracy and Dorothy (Bryant) Eckert. She was reared and educated in the Lostwood and Coteau area, where she was a cheerleader, then went on to graduate from St. Agnes Catholic School in Kenmare in 1956.

On June 18, 1956 she was united in marriage to Gene Godejohn in Bowbells, ND. They made their home in the Minot area, where they had their three children, Robin, Patty, and Tracy. Bettey worked for the City bakery, the Minot State University Student Union, and the Ward Drug store. They were later divorced.

Bettey was united in marriage to Delbert Fugere on March 23, 1979 in Minot. Following their marriage they made their home in Minot, Newburg, Loraine, and then last summer moving to Burlington, ND, to be closer to family.

Bettey enjoyed collecting dolls. If there was a doll that needed a home, she provided a home for it. She enjoyed reading novels, crocheting and was an avid gardener with her husband Del. Her true love was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bettey was the center and focal point of her family. The shared experiences and tender loving memories of Bettey will be cherished forever by her family and friends. Bettey will be and is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. For to know Bettey was to love her.

She was a former member of the St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Mohall, a Girl Scout leader, an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and a member of the Woman's Auxiliary, Sherwood.

Special friends; Ralph (Heidi) and their daughter Jami, Minot; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, and son Robin.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, May 2, 2005 from Noon until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Kenmare, ND
