Jeanette B. Frydenlund
1913 - 2007 Jeanette was born on April 25, 1913, near Granville, ND, the daughter of Gustave L. and Ada Belle (Beecher) Molden. Jeanette was raised in Granville, ND and lived most of her life in and around Minot. She graduated from Granville High School in 1931, completed her first year teaching certificate program at Minot Normal School/College in 1932. Later she completed her 2-year certificate, baccalaureate degree and post-bachelor's course work at Minot State College. She received highest academic honors during her school and college studies. She taught in rural schools near Denbigh, Rugby and Lansford prior to her marriage. She married A. F. (Fritz) Frydenlund of Rugby at Granville Lutheran Church in 1939. She and Fritz, who then was supervising rural electrification projects, moved often early in their marriage, making friends around North Dakota and South Dakota. Later they had two daughters, Sheila and Donna. Jeanette resumed teaching in a few years in Garrison, and at Roosevelt Elementary in Minot, and then served for 20 years as a teacher of English at Ramstad Junior High in Minot. Fritz became ill and passed away in 1969. Jeanette taught at Ramstad until her retirement in 1977. She remained in Minot until moving to the Elim Care Center in Fargo in 2006. Jeanette was active in Christ Lutheran Church in Minot, serving as a choir member there for more than 40 years, and on various committees. She enjoyed Bible study. She sang with the Sweet Adeline's for a period of time. She provided leadership in the Retired Teacher's Association. Jeanette was a help-mate to her husband, daughters, and granddaughter, and appreciated time with friends. She loved to bake, offering hospitality and welcoming new neighbors. She created beautiful embroidery and needlepoint. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and overseas. She was a faithful letter writer, and liked to recite reading and poems and to sing. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, walking and riding bicycle.
