Susan Lakoduk Froeber 1917 - 2007
Susan
Lakoduk Froeber, 89, Minot, ND, formerly of Turtle Lake, died
Monday, January 8, 2007, at Trinity Nursing Home in Minot.
Susanana Nathalia Schwartz was born on January 20, 1917, the
daughter of Alex and Anna (Karlson) Schwartz on the family farm
located in Amundsville Township of McLean County, 9 miles north
of Raub, ND.
On July 20, 1935, she married Jack Lakoduk at Washburn, N.D.
They lived in Butte, ND until 1951, when they moved to Turtle
Lake, ND. Susan worked as a cook for the school and later ran
a restaurant for several years. In 1967, she moved to Minot,
where she worked as a cook at the Sweden House and K-Mart. Jack
passed away in May of 1969.
In 1970, she married Frank Froeber in Minot. They enjoyed traveling,
bowling and gardening. Frank passed away in 1985.
Her loving family includes: sister, Dolores Blomquist, Minot;
sons, Jack (Jackie) Lakoduk, Hudson, FL; Lester (Linda) Lakoduk,
Vancouver, WA; Craig (Enid) Lakoduk, Turtle Lake, ND, and David
(Teresa) Lakoduk, Underwood, ND; daughters, Sharon Lakoduk, Minot;
and Goldie (Virgil) Walcker; Garden City, KS; 16 grandchildren,
30 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Lakoduk;
husband, Frank Froeber; daughter, Mavis Tierney; sister, Minnie
Hjelmstad, brothers, Kenneth and Elmer Schwartz.
Funeral: Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND, in the spring
of 2007.
Visitation: Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson
Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
