Lorraine "Dolly" FordeLorraine “Dolly” Forde, 81, Minot, formerly of Landa, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, in a Minot Nursing Home.

Lorraine (Dolly) Forde was born May 11, 1928, in Bottineau, ND, to William and Anna (Dale) Pyne.  She attended grade school in Roth, ND and graduated from Westhope High School in 1945.  

Dolly married Leif Forde in Westhope, ND on May 25, 1946.  They made their home on a farm near Landa.  Leif died March 22, 1969.  Dolly moved to Minot in 1995.

She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. with her special friend and long-time companion, Glen Johnson.  Dolly loved spending time with her family especially participating in “Talent Shows” at family reunions.

Those who shared in her life, Lila (Don) Page, East Wenatchee, WA, Sandra (Lonnie) Legg, Westhope, ND, David (Brenda) Forde, Phoenix, AZ; special friend Glen Johnson, Minot; grandchildren, Michael (Heidi) Sivertson, Peoria, AZ, Darron (Tobie) Page, Boise, ID, Mary Kay (Jim) Weber, Selah, WA,  Michelle (Aaron) Schoenwald, Royal City, WA, Heidi Sivertson (Mike Krause) Mandan, ND, Melissa Sivertson, Minot, Chelsey Legg, Bismarck, ND and Jakob Forde, Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Britnee and Kylee Page, Haley and Casey Sivertson, Hannah and Gerrit Larson, Kaden and Kaylee Krause and Addison Weber; sister, Marcy Morey, Wahpeton, ND; sister-in-law, Ovidia (Wesley) Schneider, Bottineau and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leif Forde; parents, William and Anna Pyne, brothers, Roy, Bud, Leo and Ardale Pyne; sisters, Kay Rauk, Eleanor Halvorson, Francis Power and Evelyn Marum; one great granddaughter, Savannah Weber.

The family would like to express our heart-felt thank you to Mom’s caregivers.  Through their love and kindness, she was able to spend her last years in her own home.

Funeral:  Monday, January 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 9:00 a.m. to service time, all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Vigil Prayer Service:  Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  Westhope Community Cemetery, Westhope, ND, in the spring.
