Evelyn Flygare 1923 - 2010

Evelyn Flygare PhotoEvelyn Flygare, 87, Minot, formerly of Kenmare, ND, died Monday, January 3, 2011 in a Minot nursing home.

Evelyn Fuller was born on September 7, 1923, a daughter of Hubert and Julia (Burgard) Fuller in Velva, ND. She was raised in Norwich, ND, where she graduated from school.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Melvin E. Flygare on January 31, 1941. Together they owned and operated the Kenmare Laundry for several years, retiring in the 1980’s. Evelyn found great joy in the friendships she cultivated in the Kenmare, Bowbells and Powers Lake Senior Citizens.

She loved flowers, birds, dogs and children. Evelyn was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tolley, and it’s Ladies Aid. Her spiritual life was very important to her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.

      Sons: Ervin (Sidney) Flygare, Wylie, TX, Keith (Betty) Flygare, Florence, AZ, Dwight (Nancy) Flygare, Kenmare, ND, Jon Flygare, Kenmare, ND; daughters: Evelyn (James) Booty, Coon Rapids, MN, Bonny (Les) Norton, Fargo, ND, Claudia (Larry) Ditch, Indiana, PA, Shawn (Dave) Olson, Frazee, MN, Jerri Flygare, Minot, ND; 13 grandchildren: 15 great-grandchildren: one sister Juliann Kuehn, Shell Lake, WI; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and six sisters.   

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Funeral Service:  Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2 pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley, ND

Graveside Service
A family graveside will take place in the spring of 2011 at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND

Immediately following the funeral service everyone is invited to join the family in the lower level of the church for lunch and fellowship.

The Flygare family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Evelyn.
