Robert D. "Bob"
Flemming 1942 - 2006 Robert Daniel Flemming was born on May 15, 1942, the son of Francis J. and Bernice M. (Zietz) Flemming in Minot, ND. He was raised in Minot and attended Sunnyside Elementary School and St. Leo's Catholic School. He then lived in Baker, MT, and attended Baker Grade School for a year. He then returned to Minot, where he worked at Phillips 66, Hiway Corners Texaco and several other gas stations. He had also worked at the former Parker Hotels for many years, before retiring in 1979, due to health problems. Bob was married to Betty Evelyn Whetham on August 7, 1968, in Bismarck. They made their home in Minot. He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot. He enjoyed his family, many friends and neighbors. He joined in many working, sporting, and community activities. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and Sunday picnics in the park. Surviving family includes: wife of 38 years, Betty, Minot; children, Elizabeth Flemming, Lincoln, ND, Charles (Charity) Flemming, Kendel (Amanda) Flemming, Adel (Thomas) Fowler, and Chris Haman, all of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Jesse (Liz) McLain, Robert Ryan-Flemming, Preston and Brianna Flemming, Austin and Blaine Flemming, Shelbey Schmidt, Donald Schwan-Flemming, Leoda, Louis, Knoela, and Rodney Fowler, and Lane Haman; brother, James L. Flemming, Garrison, ND; sister-in-law, Betty Borke, of Nebraska; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Francis "Corky" Flemming; sisters-in-law, Mary Roemmich, Dixie Lindquist and Judy Flemming; nephew, Rodney Haakenson; and several aunts and uncles.
