Ruth Virginia Flaten 1925 - 2006 She was born on February 23, 1925, in Carpio, ND, the daughter of Lars and Anne (Erickson) Flaten. Ruth was reared and educated in Carpio. Ruth moved to Minot and later moved to Garrison where she resided at the Benedictine Center. Ruth loved to crochet tablecloths, Afghans, doilies and all kinds of fancy work. She enjoyed entertaining guests, playing cards and different games especially Bingo. She was a member of Carpio Lutheran Church and the Carpio Senior Citizens. Survivors: brother, Hilmar (Bertha) Flaten, Minot; sisters, Glenny (Maryls) Danielson, Carpio and Delores (Robert) Anderson, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and companion and caregiver, Gordon Vaagen. She was preceded in death by her parent, Lars and Anne Flaten, sisters, Astrid Erickson, Bertha Thingelstad and Thelma Mormon; brothers, Lawrence, Olaf and Sigvart Flaten and infant sister, Lela Flaten. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND.
