Arlene Fitzmaurice 1921- 2006 Arlene was born June 26, 1921, the daughter of Martin and Sophia (Petersen) Olson, in Norma, ND. She graduated from Minot High School in 1939. Following her graduation, she attended St. Joseph's Nursing school where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. She had a nursing career in Minot prior to her marriage in 1949 to Thomas Fitzmaurice and the birth of their three children. In the early 1970's, Arlene returned to nursing as the school nurse for the North Dakota School for Deaf Children in Devils Lake, ND, retiring in 1979. She is survived by: Son: Mike (Vicki) Fitzmaurice, Minot; daughter: Shelley (Walter Duffy) Fitzmaurice, Minneapolis, MN; brother: Donovan Olson, Spokane, WA; sister, Muriel Bauer, Spokane, WA; four grandchildren: Tommy Fitzmaurice, and Megan, Patrick and Brigid Duffy. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Arvid, husband, Thomas, and daughter, Deborah. Funeral Service: a private family funeral service will be held at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Memorials are preferred to the Minot Catholic Schools or to The National Parkinson Foundation, Miami, FL. Officiant: Father Chris B.
