Dr. Arie L. Fischbach 1938 - 2010 Dr. Fischbach was born January 15, 1938 in New York, New York, to Dr. Karl and Mildred Fischbach and grew up in Manhattan, NY. He was the oldest of two children. A graduate of Lafayette College, with Honors, he went on to Medical School at the University of Liege in Liege, Belgium and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He practiced medicine as a board certified OB/GYN for the past 40 years. He spent the last 19 years working in Minot. Arie married Rayetta L. Meek on March 9th, 1985 in Williston, N.D. Together, they have 9 children, 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Outside of his practice, he enjoyed reading, jazz, a colorful use of the English language, travel, and political debate. He is survived by his wife, Rayetta; seven daughters, Natalie (Mike) Egemo, PA, Theresa (Tom) Boelts, AZ, Rebecca (Joseph) Scalio, PA, Sharon (Martin) Bratrud, TX, Nicole (Marco) Weber, IN, Sabrina Hazel, NV, Jackie (Brian) Anderson, OR, and two sons; Jerry (Kristie) Anderson, ND, and Leonard (Ashleigh) Anderson, MN; and one sister Barbara Penchuk, WA. Arie was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Karl and Mildred Fischbach. He was very thankful for the devotion shown to him by Candy and Marilyn. Funeral service: Tuesday, October 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, N.D. Visitation and vigil prayer service: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register Monday (today) October 25, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial: Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bismarck, ND.
