Jean Helen Filipkowski
• 1918 - 2003 Jean Helen Filipkowski, 84, P.O. Box 219, Garrison, ND, died Monday, October 13, 2003 in a Garrison Living Center. Jean was born on October 28, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of John and Blanche (Brownstana) Niski. She married Stanley C. Filipkowski on May 13, 1939 in Greenpoint, New York. He died on November 13, 1975. Jean moved to Minot in November of 1993 and to the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison, ND in 1996. Survivors: Sons, Thomas Filipkowski, Jacksonville, Florida, Stanley R. Filipkowski, Westbury, New York, and Michael Filipkowski, Minot, ND; daughters, Dorothy Kwiatkowski, Howell, New Jersey; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, Vincent Niski, Elmhurst, New York; sister, Theresa Smythe, Smithtown, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Blanche Niski, husband, Stanley C. Filipkowski; sisters, Mary Feldt, and Henrietta Boeing. There will be no local services. Graveside Service: Mount St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Flushing, New York Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and Quinn Fogerty Funeral Home in Flushing, NY.
