Marvin Fettig 1956 - 2009 Marvin John "Marv" Fettig was born May 12, 1956, a son of John and Rose (Jundt) Fettig, in Pierce County, rural Rugby, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1975. Marv married Elizabeth Eckel on July 22, 1977, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Munich, ND, where Marv worked for Robertson Lumber Co. until 1986, when they moved back to Minot and he continued to work for Robertson Lumber Co. He then went to work for Minot Lumber and Plum Building Supplies. In 1997, he became a salesman at Muus Lumber and had continued to work there until the time of his death. Marv enjoyed bowling, golfing, attending his sons' baseball games and spending time with his grandchildren. They were the joy of his life. Marv would put others before himself, he never worried about himself. He was an avid Minnesota Viking's Fan. Marv was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, and the Minot Association of Home Builders. He served on numerous committees and offices for the Minot Association of Builders, including President of the Association in 1999. In 1996, Marv was awarded the Associate of the Year Award with the MAB. In 2003, he was the first "Million dollar Salesman" in the history of Muus Lumber and continued to achieve this goal every year since. Surviving family includes: wife of 32 years, Liz Fettig, Minot; sons, Michael Fettig, Fargo, ND, Brandon Fettig, Minot; daughter, Michelle (Andrew) Tallman, Minot; grandchildren, Kadyn and Grayson Tallman, Minot; mother, Rose Fettig, Minot; brother, Mark Fettig, Minot; sisters, Marlene Fettig, Minot, Mary Kay (Steve) Pisarz and their children, Preston and Jena, Sparks, NV, and Marlynn (Troy) Cooper and their children, Dalton and McKayla, Minot; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Erika and Vernon Eckel, Minot; brother-in-law, Vern (Pam) Eckel Jr, and their children Jacob and Joshua, Burlington, ND; sister-in-law, Gertie Miles, Prescott, AZ, and her children, Raymond Miles and Starla Pike; great-nephew, James Pike and great-nieces, Sunny Miles and Jayden Miles; numerous aunt, uncles, cousins also survive. Marv was preceded in death by his father, John Fettig; step father, Richard Weisenburger; paternal grandparents, Fred and Regina Fettig; maternal grandparents, Anton and Eva Jundt; and brother-in-law, Jon Staffon. St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
