Anthony "Tony" Feist 1920 - 2003

Anthony "Tony" Feist, 83, 1600 5th St. SE, Minot, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at a Minot nursing home.

He was born on January 8, 1920, at Karlsruhe, ND, the son of Ben and Dorothy (Striefel) Feist. He was raised and educated in the Karlsruhe area and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930's.

On October 28, 1941, he was united in marriage to Bertha Klein at Karlsruhe, ND. In April of 1942, he entered the U.S. Army. During World War II he was involved in the Attu Conflict and was stationed at the Aleutian Islands. He was honorably discharged in 1944. Tony and Bertha farmed east of Simcoe and north of Velva for 35 years. They retired and moved to Minot in 1983. They were members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.

Tony served on the Hendrickson Township Board and the Simcoe elevator board and was also a past member of the Minot Eagles and Moose Lodges. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Minot Knights of Columbus, the VFW Post No. 9316 of Karlsruhe and our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Throughout his years, Tony was an avid baseball fan, especially the "Twins". He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, pool and cards. He also liked to drive his frequent new and shiny cars.

Survivors: wife, Bertha, Minot; daughter, Lorraine (Dennis) Bossert, Velva; sons and daughter-in-laws, Tony (Sue), Fort Collins, CO, Richard (Marlene), Post Falls, ID, Mark (Judy), Fargo, Brian (Kelly), Nazareth, PA and Don (Karla), Minot; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Frank, Portland, OR and Ben, Minot; sisters, Dorothy Hager, Minot, Lena Heit, Minot, Barbara (Andrew) Brunner, Yakima, WA, Ann Schaan, Minot, Kate (Pat) Faye, Boise, ID and Caroline (Dan) Goebel, Henderson, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Dorothy; brother, Paul and sister, Christine Kupser.

Funeral: Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday, (Today) from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
