Bernice Farnstrom 1924 - 2010 Bernice Mildred Samuelson was born on July 20, 1924, a daughter of Ingar and Ida (Lee) Samuelson in Lignite, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Lignite. Bernice graduated from Lignite High School in 1942. Following her graduation, she moved to Portland, OR, where she worked at Fred Meyer’s grocery store. On August 29, 1948, Bernice was united in marriage to Clifford Farnstrom in Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. . They farmed near Roseglen until 1951, when they moved to Minot. While in Minot, Bernice worked for Oppen’s Market, ABC Dry Cleaners and at Trinity School of Nursing, starting as a housekeeper, and later working as a house mother from 1970, until her retirement. Clifford died in 1992. In 2007, she moved to Williston to be closer to family, and in March entered the Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bernice was a member of Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot and an associate member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, in Williston. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and hardanger. She is survived by: Sisters: Mabel Hanson, Bismarck, ND, and Hazel Kolden, Williston, ND and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford, a brother Alfred Samuelson and infant sister Florence. Visitation: Monday, July 12, 2010 from noon
until 7 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot Memorials preferred to Bread of Life Lutheran Church or to an organization of donor’s choice. The family will join you upon the conclusion of the graveside service. Bernice's family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time.
