Emil Frandrich • 1909 - 2006 Emil was born on April 9, 1909, in rural Kief, ND, the son of John and Fredericka (Ebel) Fandrich. He was reared and educated on the family farm in Strasburg Township, Sheridan County. Emil married Emma Hauff on November 27, 1930, in rural Drake. The lived on his father's farm south of Kief, then moved north of Kief for a year, then south of Kief for about seven years, where they farmed. They purchased the original family farm south of Kief, where he has lived since. Emma died on August 15, 1997. He continued to live on the family farm before moving into Souris Valley Care Center in Velva in 2003. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Kief, ND. He drove school bus and loved kids. Emil and Emma sang for more than 100 funerals in the area over the years. Emil is survived by his son, Delmer (Normeley) Fandrich, Rugby; daughter, Darlene (Robert (Bud) Olson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Marlys (Susie) Fandrich, Minot; six grandchildren, Lynn (Dorene) Fandrich, Beulah, ND, Loren (Darla) Fandrich, Minot, Lavern Fandrich, Rugby, Jacquie (Paul) White, Burlington, Sarah and Brenna Olson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; brothers: Jon (Ardella) Fandrich, Lodi, California and Alvin "Buddy" (Gladys) Fandrich, Redding, California; brothers-in-law, Art Bischel, Sammamish, Washington and Ben (Freeda) Hauff, Billings, Mt.; sisters-in-laws, Florence Fandrich, Sacramento, CA, Melitta Fandrich, Lodi, CA and Rosella Hauff, Drake, ND ; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; son, Darrel; infant granddaughter and brothers, Wilhelm, Benjamin, Edwin, Sam, Reuben and Art and sisters, Wilhelmina, Eleanor Bischel, Blondena Krueger and Melitta Sivell. Funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot Visitation: Wednesday from noon until 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
