Darrel Fandrich 1942 - 2005
Darrel was born on June 2, 1942 in Anamoose, ND, a son of Emil and Emma (Hauff) Fandrich. He was reared and educated in the Kief area and attended country school near Kief, Kief grade school and graduated from Butte High School in 1960. He attended Minot State University as well as doing construction work on area missile sites. He later worked with Alan Doerr as a bricklayer where he helped in the construction of the addition of the Butte School, Oak Park Theater and other buildings in the area. On February 17, 1968, he married Marlys (Susie) Michalenko at Grace Baptist Church in Minot. He worked at Fisher Motors for a short time and later at Sears as a salesman in the automotive and home improvement departments for over 15 years. He worked at Souris Valley Special Services as a bus driver for a time before going into farming on the family farm three miles south of Kief and working part time at the Minot Airport parking lot. He later turned his entire interest to farming and was still farming at the time of his death. Darrel was a member of First Baptist Church, Minot and was a former member of the Elks. Darrel enjoyed all types of sports. He was an avid racecar fan, especially NASCAR and could be frequently be found at his grandchildren's activities. Darrel was a hard worker who fought the fight to the finish. Darrel is survived by his wife, Marlys (Susie) Fandrich, Minot, daughter, Jacquie (Paul) White, Burlington, grandchildren, Cody and Britta White, Burlington, father, Emil Fandrich, Velva; brother, Delmer (Normeley) Fandrich, Rugby; and a sister, Darlene (Robert (Bud) Olson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Michalenko, Minot. Numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Fandrich. Funeral: Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at 11 a.m., First Baptist Church, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND Visitation: On Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 1 p.m. from
5 p.m. and Monday, April 25, 2005, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at
