Rose Fahn 1926 - 2002

Rose Fahn, 75, 21 18th St. NW, Minot, died Wednesday in a Minot nursing home.

She was born August 11, 1926, on the family farm at Fulda, near Berwick, ND, the daughter of Adolph and Johanna (Schiele) Gerger. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in a little country school at Fulda, a small establishment consisting of a schoolhouse, a catholic church and a parish house.

On October 18, 1948, she married John Fahn at St. Annselms Catholic Church, Fulda. She accompanied him in his electrical employment from Drake to Williston, ND and then on to Scobey and Miles City, MT. In March of 1957 they moved to Minot where her husband took employment at the Minot Air Force Base. Rose worked at Erik Ramstad for the school lunch program for several years and also worked as an assistant cook for the Head Start program for two years. Her husband retired after 31 years at the MAFB. They have been retired and living in Minot for the last 15 years.

Rose raised three sons and helped them through the school years and as much as she could through their college and trade school years. She was a friendly person who enjoyed people.

Survivors: husband, John, Minot: sons, Patrick Fahn and his wife Marcia, Bismarck, Brian Fahn, Fairfax, VA and Bruce Fahn, Minot; three grandchildren, J'Patrick, James and Julie Rose Fahn, all of Bismarck; brothers, John Gerger, Voltaire, ND, Tony Gerger, Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Emil Gerger, Albany, OR and sister, Theresa Gerger, Rugby. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ann Geisinger and her brothers, Bernard "Barney" Gerger and Joseph Gerger.

Funeral: Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Rosary: Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: Friday from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
