Dina Mathea Everson 1921 - 2004

Dina Mathea Everson, 83, Velva, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 in her home.

Dina was born January 14, 1921, at Voltaire, ND, the daughter of Johannes and Marie Rorback. She attended all her school years at Bergen School and graduated from there.

Dina taught for two years near Balfour. On June 14, 1941, she married Elmer Everson in Velva. In 1944 they purchased a farm near Simcoe and continued farming until Elmer's death in December 1979. She moved to Velva in 1981 and made her home there until the time of her death.

Dina was a member of Stenkjaer Lutheran Church, Simcoe, and was active in all church work, community boards, and Sons of Norway activities. She held responsible positions in all of the above mentioned. Dina served as organist at Stenkjaer Church of Simcoe for more than 30 years. She also did volunteer work at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva and with the Velva Ambulance. She was a member of the Velva Legion Auxiliary.

Those who shared in her life: Sons, Harold "Bud" (Gloria) Everson, rural Granville, Ronald Everson, Minot, and James (Barbara) Everson, Ada, MN; daughter-in-law, Cassel Everson, Grand Forks, ND; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Dina was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son Dennis Everson; her parents, Johannes and Marie Rorback; brothers, Henry and Martin Roebuck; sister, Mabel Pretzer.

Funeral: Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stenkjaer Lutheran Church, Simcoe, ND.

Visitation: Friday, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva, ND.

Burial: Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe, ND.
