Jacqueline (Stauss) Erickson 1928 - 2010

Jacqueline was born on December 10, 1928, in Minot, ND the daughter of Leonard and Mildred (Smith) Noren.   She grew up in Minot and graduated from St. Leo’s High School  in 1947.    She was a lifelong resident of Minot.   In 1961, she married Joseph Stauss and he died in 1978.   In 1984, she married Marlowe Erickson.  

Over the years, Jackie worked at Minot Builders Supply, Industrial Credit Company and  Jim Ryan Chevrolet.    She was an avid bowler in Minot for 28 years, participating in numerous local, state and national tournaments and was one of Minot’s best bowlers for several years.

Jackie enjoyed listening to and watching Minnesota Twins games, making wooden lawn ornaments and decorations along with creating ceramic pieces and was an extraordinary seamstress.  She loved her dogs, Tyler and Rosie and was very passionate about taking care of them. 

Over the years, Jackie enjoyed spending time at Minot’s Moose Lodge, the Elk’s Lodge and the American Legion.

In her younger years, she was an assistant little league baseball coach and cub scout den mother.    Until the time of her passing, she loved to watch Lawrence Welk on TV.

Jackie was a member of the Women of the Moose and for 28years, Minot’s Women’s Bowling Association.
               
She is survived by her husband Marlowe Erickson, Minot; son, Larry (Lori) Stauss, Longmont, CO; daughter, Barbara (Jerry) Ferguson, Manassas, VA; three grandchildren, Joey and Heidi Stauss and Natalie Ferguson; sisters, Darlene Ritz and Darlene’s sons, Rodney and Keith Knutson  and daughter Karen  Ayash.   Special friends, John and Barbara Samuelson, neighbors and friends for 44 years.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Stauss; and sisters, Lois Erdmann and Pauline Rivinius.

Mass of Christian Burial:   Thursday, January 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Homes, Chapel, Minot, ND

Visitation: 
Wednesday, from noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson  Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Memorials are preferred to the Minot Catholic Schools,  316  11th Ave NW, Minot, ND  58702.
