Clarice "June" Erickson • 1921 - 2010 June was born the eighth of nine children on June 22, 1921, in Surrey, ND to Martin and Ella (Barsness) Ofsthun. She was raised in the rural Surrey area and attended school in Norwich, ND. In order to graduate from high school she stayed with teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rowe helping them with their children. Henry and June Erickson were united in marriage on December 3, 1938, in Deering, ND. They lived in Rugby, Deering and Granville areas in their early years before settling in rural Minot. They raised five children while farming and ranching. June worked as a telephone operator while living in Deering. After moving to Minot she waitressed at the Country Club and the Minot Elks Lodge for nearly 30 years. She was loved by her grandchildren and spent many hours caring for them and other children. June and Hank also ran Erickson Post and Pole at their farm west of Minot and the coffee pot was always on to all their customers and friends. June enjoyed the occasional bingo game and loved to dance. In her later years at the nursing home she shared her singing talents with the staff and residents. June is survived by her children, Janet Langseth, Minot, Leroy Erickson, Tacoma, WA, Roger (Patty) Erickson, Minot, Don (Darla) Erickson, Minot, and Nancy (Steve) Olson, Mohall, ND; grandchildren, Brian (Candace) Langseth, Minot, Bruce (Lynda) Langseth, Minot, Adam (Lacey) Erickson, Roy, WA, Wendy Erickson, Roy, WA, Kristin (James) Mann, Minot, Drew, Ethan and Layton Erickson, Minot, McKenzy, Spencer, Statler and Steele Olson, Mohall; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Woodrow (Barbara) Ofsthun, Gig Harbor, WA; sister-in-;aw Shirley Erickson, Granville, ND; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. June was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents, Martin and Ella; brothers, Oliver, Roy and Eugene; sisters, Edna, Blanche, Fern and Lorraine; and son-in-law, Grant Langseth Jr. Visitation: Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 7 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Friday, October 15, 2010 at 1 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial park, Minot

Clarice “June” Erickson, 89, Mohall, ND, formerly of Minot, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, October 7, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Mohall.
