Rachel Engstrom, 86, Minot, formerly of Antler, ND, died Sunday, May 03, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Rachel Alice Weston and her twin brother Russell, were born on Mother's day, May 14, 1922, to Jay and Lola (Schoffstoll) Weston in Antler, ND. She was raised and educated in Antler, ND.

On March 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Noel Engstrom in Bottineau, ND. They made their home in Antler, where Rachel was a homemaker until her children went to school. She then worked for the Westhope Nursing Home as a Certified Nurses Assistant and cook

Rachel enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing bingo, cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for children, being known as Grandma Rachel to all young children.

Rachel was a member of the Antler Community Church, and a lifetime member "Golden Link" Rebekah Lodge #91, Antler, ND.

Son: Marlan (special friend Connie Boe) Engstrom, Minot; daughters Judy (Gary) Hunter, Minot, Kim (Dean) Rosberg, Glenburn, ND; six grandchildren: Royce (April) Hunter, Wade Hunter, Clay Jacobs, Trisha (Kurt) Holman, Melody (Cameron) Shelkey, Brittney Rosberg; four great-grandchildren: Alexis and Kaitlyn Holman, Riley Lefever and Keira Shelkey. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noel, son Renny, daughter Connie, brothers Twin brother Russell, Jake and Dale, sisters Beulah Branchard, June Smith, Delpha Getchell and Sylvia Hagert.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 2-7 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Antler Community Church, Antler, ND

Burial: Antler Community Cemetery, Antler, ND
