Lois (Bredy) Engman 1928 - 2010

Lois Engman PhotoLois (Bredy) Engman, age 81, Minot, ND, formerly of Bismarck, ND, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Trinity Hospital, Minot.

Lois Eunice Johnson was born December 21, 1928, at Benson, Minnesota, to Bert and Irene Johnson.  In 1932, the family moved to Bismarck, ND.  Lois graduated from Bismarck High School in 1947.
    
That same year, on December 26, Lois married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Bredy.  They made their home in Bismarck, where she worked as a secretary for the State Highway Department at the State Capitol.
    
During those years, Art and Lois had three children.  Cheri Cole, and her husband Gary, who presently live in Chanhassen, MN; Dick, who died in infancy; and Bob, who presently lives in Bismarck.
    
In 1971, Lois and Art moved to New Hope, Minnesota.  In 1980, they moved to Mankato, MN.  It was there, in 1983, that Art passed away.  Shortly thereafter, Lois moved to Minnetonka, MN.  She worked first at the Hopkins, MN, public library, and then as a secretary for Lakeland Veterinary Services.
    
During that time, she met and married her new sweetheart Floyd Engman, on January 2, 1992.  During the ensuing years, they enjoyed spending time at a variety of vacation homes in Mission, Texas, Elk River, MN, Alexandria, MN, and near Mil Lac Lake in Minnesota. They continued to live in Minnetonka until 2002, when they moved to Minot, ND, to be closer to family.  In 2009, they moved into the Wellington Retirement Community, where Floyd continues to reside.
    
She is survived by her husband, Floyd, her daughter, Cheri (Gary) Cole, her son Bob Bredy; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Johnson, Jamestown.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dick, her husband, Art, and her grandson, Joshua. 

Private Family Funeral will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Interment:
  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation: 
Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials
: are preferred to Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot.
