Gladys Eng 1921 - 2008 Gladys S. Struckness was born August 2, 1921, a daughter of Louis and Rachel (Jenson) Struckness in Carpio Township of Ward County, ND. She was raised on a farm near Carpio and attended school in Hartland and Carpio. Gladys was once married to Martin Frederick Christensen. Gladys married Glen Eng February 10, 1959, in Minot. They made their home in Stanley, where she was employed by Jenson's Grocery Store and the Two Way Cafe. She had also babysat for several families in Stanley for several years. Jessica Dusek, Chris, Derek, and Shawn Bieri, Keyla, Kaloni and Kristopher Erickson, all called her grandma and had kept in contact with her up until the time of her death. Glen passed away December 18, 1996. She continued to reside in Stanley until 1997, when she moved to Williston. In Williston, she cleaned houses with her friend, Mayo Miller. She later resided in Watford City, Burlington, and most recently to Minot, where she resided at Trinity Homes. She was a member of American Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Stanley, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Williston. She was also a member of the Stanley Women's Birthday Club. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling with Buddy and Shirley Struckness. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's basketball games. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Surviving family includes: son, Marty Christensen, Minot; grandchildren, Rhonda (Greg) Johnson, Minot; Scott (Dana) Christensen, Cannon Falls, MN; and Travis (Chelsea) Christensen, Richardton, ND; Andrea (Mike) Crow, Watford City, ND; nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Shirley Struckness, Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Eng; daughter-in-law, Debbie Christensen; four brothers, and four sisters. Funeral: Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
