Clarence E. Engeberg 1924 - 2009 Clarence Everett Engeberg was born May 4, 1924, the son of Chester and Lillian (Stroklund) Engeberg in Kenmare, ND. He was raised on the Engeberg family farm located in the Donnybrook/Tolley area. He was educated at the Sauk Prairie Country School. Clarence enlisted in the United States Navy on April 28, 1944. He proudly served his country during WWII and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. Clarence married June C. Slaamod April 15, 1947, in Kenmare. They made their home on a farm located in Ivanhoe Township of Renville County, near Tolley. Clarence contracted Polio in the fall of 1949. Due to this, he had to use crutches, but managed as best as he could. Clarence actively farmed with his two sons, Dennis and Lory until semi-retirement in the 1990s. Clarence was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare. He loved driving to any destination and he and June enjoyed traveling throughout the western half of the United States. Surviving family includes: Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Engeberg; and brother, Donald Engeberg. Funeral: Monday, April 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Nazareth
