Rochus Paul "Roy"
Ell 1915 - 2006 Rochus was born June 18, 1915 in Berwick, ND, the son of Michael and Mary (Schatz) Ell. He was raised on the family farm near Karlsruhe, ND and educated in Balfour, ND. While growing up he helped on the family farm. On November 5, 1942, Rochus married Mary Walter, in a double wedding with his twin brother, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. Following their marriage they lived, farmed and raised their family in the Verendrye area. Rochus farmed for 30 years near Verendrye until 1969 when they moved to Minot. He worked for Feist Construction for 25 years until his retirement. Mary died on October 22, 1998. Rochus was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Aerie, all in Minot. He was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. He had numerous hobbies and talents, some which included, woodworking, quilting and rug making. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing numerous instruments for wedding dances. Survivors: Children, LeRoy (Cecelia) Ell, Imperial Beach, CA, Kathleen Ell, Minot, James (Sharon) Ell, Minot, Gayle (John) Schmidt, Surprise, AZ, Melvin (Cyndy) Ell, Minot, Ralph (Jane) Ell, Minot, Carla Twete, Minot, and Kevin (Darcie) Ell, Loveland, CO; 13 grandchildren, Jodi Ell, Corey Ell, Jeffrey Ell, Christopher Ell, Kami Lipelt, Joni DeMontigny, Steffanie Ell, Cassadie Ell, Lincoln Ell, Meghan Joyce, LinLee Twete, Hayden and Becker Ell; eight great-grandchildren, Kelsie Lipelt, Skylar Lipelt, Madison Ell, Tyler Ell, Tana DeMontigny, Caitlyn Messner, Megan Ell and Sean Ell; sisters, Mary Heit, Yakima, WA and Agatha Senger, Portland, OR; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Rochus was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Jeffrey; his parents, Michael and Mary; twin brother, Tony, brothers, Christ, Steve, Willie, John and Gabriel, and sister, Katie. Funeral: Monday, October 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be Sunday, from noon to 5:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service Sunday at 5:00, all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Monday at 2:00 p.m., at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Memorials are preferred to Little Flower Catholic Church,
