Alice C. Ellis 1939- 2009
Alice married Leonard E. Gilbertson June 29, 1956. They made their home in Westhope where she was employed as the book keeper for B & G Construction. They had four children; Robert, Donald, Vicki, and a baby girl twin to Don that died after birth. Leonard died Nov 21, 1966. Alice continued to live in Westhope and worked at the bank for a couple of years. Alice then moved to Minot and was married to Howard Lunde and later was married to Gene Ellis. She held various jobs in Minot and eventually moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, for the warmer climate. While in Scottsdale, Alice worked as a CNA in home health care. She was very passionate with her patients, their families and made many wonderful friends. Alice then moved to Clarksville, TN. She held a few various jobs with the last one in records at Blanchfield Army Hospital at Fort Campbell. She passed away at Spring Meadows Nursing Home in Clarksville, TN, October 17, 2009, at the age of 70. Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville. She was very active and held many positions there. She considered her friends there her “second” family. Alice loved family time with her children, her brothers and sisters, and cherished her grandchildren. Her passion was reading the Bible and doing things for others. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many clothes for friends and family members. She looked forward to spring when the humming birds would come and always had feeders out to welcome them back. Alice is survived by her children, Bob (Renee) Gilbertson of Minot, Don Gilbertson of Buckley, WA, Vicki (Josh) Colwell of Crofton, KY; 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. Her brothers, Larry (Cathy) Skaufel of Panguitch,UT, Bill (Ardell) Skaufel of Burnsville, MN, and Jim (Judy) Skaufel of Edmonds, Wash, and a sister, Verna (Vernon) Schoenberg of Mohall, ND. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard Gilbertson; infant daughter; one brother; four sisters; and an infant step great grandson. “We already miss you mom, you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We A memorial service was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville, TN, Saturday, October 31, 2009. Memorial Service: She will say good bye to her all her loved ones here Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 11 am at Bread of Life Lutheran Church in Minot with lunch to follow.
