John L. Eide 1914 - 2007 John was born July 27, 1914, on the family homestead northeast of Carpio, ND, to John A. and Anna Dorothy (Larson) Eide. He was raised on the family homestead and attended country school a half a mile from the farmstead. John lived and farmed with his parents until he married Norma Williams on November 21, 1943. They made their home for the first year near Lorraine, ND. In 1944 they purchased a farmstead east of Carpio where they lived, farmed and raised their five children. In 1954, John started a second career with the Burlington Northern Railroad working in Gavin Yards in Minot. In 1982, John retired from farming and the Burlington Northern Railroad. John and Norma then moved into Carpio where they lived until October of 2001, when they moved to Minot. John became a resident of Trinity Homes in February of 2004 until his death. John was a member of the Carpio Senior Citizens. Survivors: Wife, Norma, Minot; sons, Roger and wife, Madonna, Tolley, Richard, Sherwood, Steven and friend Marilyn, Minot, and Darrell and wife, Dawn, Westhope; daughter, Dorothy and husband, Harlan Rostad, Minot; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. John was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Donna Eide; grandson, Jeffery Rostad; granddaughter, Nicole Eide; grandson-in-law, Neil Peterson; great-granddaughter, Kevia Eide; his parents, John and Anna Eide; brothers, Andrew and Earl, and sister, Gladys. Funeral: Friday, April 13, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 2500 Central Avenue West, Minot, ND. Visitation: Thursday, (today) from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
