Joseph T. Ehli 1915 - 2006 He was born on April 2, 1915, in Selz, ND, and raised in the Esmond, ND area. The son of Martin and Mary (Ripplinger) Ehli. Joe worked as a farm laborer and for the Works Progress Administration. On July 6, 1942, he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad and eventually the Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked for over 34 years retiring in June of 1976. Joe married Barbara Heisler on September 10, 1934, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, ND. While working for the railroad Joe and his family lived in Selz, Stanley, ND, Lignite, ND and Berthold, ND before coming to Minot in 1968. Joe was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the Eagles Aerie, and the Knights of Columbus all of Minot. Joe's favorite pastimes were fishing, dancing, traveling, playing cards and after his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking. Survivors: sons, Lester (Helen) Ehli, Apache Junction, AZ, and Lloyd Ehli, Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Esther (Merrill) Vickstrom, Lincoln City, OR and Judy (Alfred) Walter, Minot, 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brothers, Leo Ehil, Sioux City, IA and Leonard Ehli, Milwaukee, WI; and sisters, Frances Derhak, Minot and Irene Johnson, Jamestown, ND. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Arlene Bienek, grandson, Leslie Ehli, parents, Martin and Mary and brothers Raymond, Walter and Jack Ehli. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St.Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: Monday, October 30, 2006, from Noon until
