Barbara was born on July 4, 1912, in Pierce County, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Pfliger) Heisler. Barbara was raised on the family farmstead in Pierce County.

She married Joseph T. Ehli on September 10, 1934, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, ND. The couple lived in Selz, Stanley, where Barbara worked at the hospital, Lignite, and Berthold. In 1968, they moved to Minot, where Barbara was employed at Margaret's Drapery as a professional seamstress until she retired in 1974.

She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Barbara's hobbies included sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and working in her flower bed. She also liked to fish, dance and travel.

Survivors: husband, Joseph Ehli, Minot; sons, Lester (Helen) Ehli, Apache Junction, AZ, and Lloyd Ehli, Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Esther (Merrill) Vickstrom, Lincoln City, OR and Judy (Alfred) Walter, Minot; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Solberg, Fessenden, ND, and Mikelena, Ludwig, Pelican Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Arlene Bienek, her parents Joseph and Gertrude, three sisters, and seven brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot

Rosary Recitation: Monday, November 15, 2004, Noon until 7 p.m. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Visitation: Monday, November 15, 2004, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
