Irene Edwardson 1917 - 2008 Irene Josephine Mollerud was born May 14, 1917, a daughter of Engebret and Sina (Underdahl) Mollerud in Tolgen Township of Ward County, rural Makoti, ND. She was raised and educated in Vang Township. Irene was employed at Minot State College, Armour Creameries, Parker Hotel, 7-up Bottling Company and worked for various farmers. Irene married Alfred Edwardson on June 13, 1936. They lived in various places around Minot, raising their 14 children. When all of their children left the home, Irene and Alfred spent their summers at the Flom shack located south of Berthold. In the fall of 1981, the Ellingson place, located 13 miles south of Berthold, was purchased by the Yuly family. It was decided that with the large family the Edwardsons had, that "The Ranch" would be their new residence. Alfred passed away July 13, 1982. Following her husband's death, she continued to reside on the ranch helping the Yuly's to care for all the livestock, and caring for her chickens, turkeys and geese. She also helped in the field during the haying and harvest seasons. Irene later resided at Parkview Trailer Court, Velva Nursing Home, and most recently at Trinity Homes in Minot. She was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. Her life revolved around her children. She loved spending time with all of them. Her farm animals were next in line to her children "maybe." Her selfless love will never be forgotten.
