Gary Dunkel 1952 - 2009 Gary Dean Charles Dunkel was born July 6, 1952, a son of Joseph and Selma (Hanson) Dunkel, in Minot, ND. As a baby, he was nicknamed "Bimbo". He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1971. He had worked as a stone mason for a while and in 1978, he became co-owner and operator of Minot Radiator Repair with his brother, Glen. Gary married Tamara Mattern January 29, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Minot. Together they enjoyed their two dogs, Lady and Bailey. They also enjoyed attending the ND State Fair exhibits and concerts, the Norsk Hostfest, and watching the Minnesota Twins. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, wood working, making bird houses, and playing softball. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving family includes: wife, Tamara, Minot; brothers, LeRoy (Audrey) Dunkel, St. George, Utah, Glen (Jean) Dunkel, Minot, Henry Dunkel, Zap, Bill (Christina) Dunkel, Minot; sisters, Gloria (Don) Peterson, Winston, NM, Ann (Ron) Gulbranson, Coleharbor, Barbara (Walt) Barlow, Garrison, and Linda (Gary) Wallace, Havre, MT; father-in-law, Ray (Marilyn) Mattern; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Joe Dunkel; and mother-in-law, Valerie Mattern. Funeral: Friday, March 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion
