Dolores Ethel (Depute)
Drangsholt • 1926 - 2007 Dolores was born on August 27, 1926, in Berthold, ND, to William and Eva (Hennessy) Depute. She was raised and educated near Berthold, graduating from Berthold High School in 1945. After High School, Dolores attended Minot State Teachers College. Dolores started her teaching career at South Prairie, rural Minot. She later started teaching at Sherman School, rural Antler, where she met Thomas Drangsholt. Thomas and Dolores were married on June 27, 1951. Together they made their home on a farm Southwest of Antler, ND. Dolores continued her teaching career at Antler Public School. After Thomas died in 1984, she continued to live on the farm, enjoying her rural lifestyle until July of 2005, when she moved to Minot. Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antler and later joined the St. James Catholic Church in Sherwood, ND. Dolores served on the Wheaton Township board, Bottineau County FHA, Bottineau County Homemakers, Borderline Homemakers Member, 4-H leader for many years, a member of the Westhope Arts Guild, and worked as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center in Mohall. Dolores was a very talented person, who enjoyed many passions. Such as quilting, oil painting, flower and vegetable gardening, and loved to share her talents with friends and family. Her independence and loving spirit has touched many lives. Survivors include two daughters, Lila (Reid) Kukowski, Colstrip, MT and Linda (Gerald) Miller, Devils Lake, ND; granddaughters, Autum and Amy Kukowski, Colstrip, MT, grandsons, David and Cody Miller, Devils Lake, ND: sisters, Marcella Depute, Minot, Gertrude Simms, Spokane, WA, Donna Depute, Minot, Jane Depute, Jerusalem, Israel; brothers: Lawrence Depute, Berthold, Jerome Depute, Malta, MT, Daniel (Linda) Depute, Berthold, Francis (Julie) Depute, St. Paul, MN; sisters-in-law: Ann Drangsholt, Mohall, ND, Esther (Roy) Peterson, Antler, Margaret Hovde, Watford City, ND; brother-in-law, Chris Drangsholt, Mohall. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents and three brothers. Visitation: Sunday, January 28, 2007 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m at the St. James Catholic Church, Sherwood, ND, and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
