He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby, and also enjoyed fixing up his farm buildings northwest of Minot.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, especially deer, and would often bring a nice buck into one of the area big buck contests.  He was also a naturalist and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his children, hiking, bird watching and just being outdoors with them.

Mark was a tireless volunteer, and was always willing to help when someone was in need.  He enjoyed preserving and trying to replicate recipes of his family’s heritage.  Mark had worked at Meinecke-Johnson Co., Gowan Rain Gutter, and Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery over the last several years.
