Shirley Dockter, 81, Minot, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 in a Minot nursing home.

Shirley was born on January 20, 1926, the second of eleven children to Henry and Martha (Hoffer) Stein in McClusky, ND. She was raised and educated in the McClusky area, attending country schools.

She was united in marriage to Albert M. Dockter on November 28, 1947 in Goodrich, ND. They farmed near McClusky, ND for several years. In 1955, they moved to Minot, where Shirley was a daycare provider for over 40 years, until ill health forced her to retire in 1999. In December of 2001 she entered Trinity Homes. Albert died February 28, 2004.

Shirley was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. And enjoyed craft work and children. Her family was very important to her and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Shirley is survived by: Two sons, Stanley (Sally ) Dockter, Manvel, ND and Bruce Dockter, Grand Forks, ND; two daughters, Charlotte Kremer and Vickie (Gordon) Thiel, both of Minot; eight grandchildren: Lisa (Scott) Wysocki, Jason (Tina) Lemon, Kari (special friend, Bob Fuegmann)Kremer, James Kremer, Travis, Michael, Tyler and Sara Dockter; four step-grandchildren: James Thiel, David Thiel, Katie Thiel, Andy Thiel: Five great-grandchildren, BreeAnna Kremer, Evan and Morgan Wysocki, and Toni and Bryce Lemon; sisters: Darlene (Art) Grosz, Minot, Virginia (Harold) Pollack, McClusky, Pat Homann, Minot and Diane Hintz, Goodrich, ND: brothers: Theobald (Becky) Stein, McClusky, ND, Roger (Patty) Stein, Napoleon, ND, Wesley Stein, McClusky; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Doc", brother Clarence, sisters, Marlene Murray and Loretta Meckle

Visitation: Sunday, July 15, 2007 from Noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Monday, July 16, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Officiant: Rev. Janet Hernes-Mathistad
