Dockter 1924 - 2004 Albert M. "Doc" Dockter, 79, 22 S. Main, Apt. 21, Minot, ND, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, in a Minot hospital. He was born on July 7, 1924, in Lincoln Valley, ND, to John and Margaret (Hausauer) Dockter. He attended country school in the area. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on May 24, 1944, and served as a tail gunner. He was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps on June 6, 1946, and returned to North Dakota. He married Shirley Stein on November 28, 1947, in Goodrich, ND. They farmed near McClusky, ND for several years. In 1955, they moved to Minot, and he went to work as a truck driver for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Frito-Lay Company, both of Minot. He retired from driving, and continued to worked part-time at K-Mart and Miracle Mart, both of Minot. He fully retired in 2000, to help with the care of his wife, Shirley. He continued to live in Minot until the time of his death. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. His family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his passion. In his spare time, he was an avid card player. He enjoyed playing pinochle and whist at the Minot Moose Lodge and the Minot Senior Citizens. Survivors: wife, Shirley, Minot; two sons, Stanley (Sally) Dockter, Manvel, ND, and Bruce Dockter, Grand Forks, ND; two daughters, Charlotte Kremer, and Vickie (Gordon) Thiel, both of Minot; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Wysocki, Jason (Tina) Lemon, Kari and James Kremer, Travis, Michael, Tyler and Sara Dockter; five great-grandchildren, BreeAnna Kremer, Evan and Morgan Wysocki, and Toni and Bryce Lemon; two sisters, Ruth Toner and Emma Werre. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, Rudolph, John, Edward, David, Arnold, Gottlieb, Reinold, and Jacob Dockter, and one sister, Annie Trautman. Funeral Service: Thursday, March 4, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Wednesday, March 3, 2004, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
