Gladys Dix 1920 - 2007 Gladys was born on February 23, 1920, to Louis and Maria Hanson, on the family farm in Voltaire, ND. She was educated and confirmed in the Voltaire area, attending country schools. In 1938, Gladys was united in marriage to Peter Aanderud. She was united in marriage to Elmer Dix on February 9, 1962, in Sidney, MT. They made their home in Velva, where she worked at Velva Cleaners and the Red Owl and Supervalu grocery stores until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Minot and the Oak Valley Lutheran Church of Velva, ND. She enjoyed playing Bingo, piano, crocheting and knitting afghans. Gladys is survived by her husband Elmer, Velva; sons Paul Aanderud, Minot, ND and Leslie (Ethel) Aanderud, Riverside, CA; daughter Myrna Beltz, Velva, ND; sister Alice Strube, Velva, ND, twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leonard, Joseph, and Orville, sister, Ida, two grandchildren, and one nephew. Visitation: Monday, July 16, 2007 from 2-6 at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 1p.m. at the Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva Burial: Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND Officiant: Rev.
