William "Bill" Dickinson, 45, Surrey, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his home.

Bill Dickinson was born on November 12, 1962, the son of Eugene and Audrey (Larson) Dickinson of Surrey, ND. He was raised and educated in Surrey, ND.

Following high school, he worked with his brother Jeff in Newtown, ND for Amoco Gas.
He later worked as a farm hand for Kenneth Bischke, and even participated in aerial crop spraying. It was during this time that Bill met his future wife Rosalie "Rosie" Dickinson. On November 9, 1984 the two of them were married in Minot and moved to rural Surrey to start their life together. The two of them were soon joined by their eldest son, Kyle, and shortly there after, daughter Heather and son Brandon joined the Dickinson family.

Then Bill moved on to work for R&K Contractors and Western Builders, becoming a skilled metal fabricator while working alongside "Bubba" Neshem for many years. Bill kept his employment to jobs where he could work outdoors, mostly with equipment and making things work when others couldn't.

Bill and his family moved to Karlsruhe, ND for short period when he accepted a job working for Parshall Grain Elevator. In 1994 he gave his family a serious scare when he was involved in a violent snowmobile accident, breaking his back and having to undergo months of intense rehabilitation. With his hard working attitude translating into everything he did, Bill was able to make a full recovery and return to work in Parshall. Shortly after his return to work, he accepted a position with Keller Paving becoming an integral part of day to day operations and the overall "Go to Guy." He worked with Keller Paving for the remainder of his life.

Bill enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and boating, snowmobiling and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed working in the garage or around the yard with his children. He was the type of person that could never sit still; he was always outside working on one of his many projects. Bill also helped to raise newborn pheasants as a member of the Pheasants for the Future program. His two grandchildren, Morgan and Easton, were his most recent love in life. He enjoyed watching them grow and learn new things while spending as much time with them as possible. Besides sleep though, his grandkids were most successful at getting him to take a break from work to sit with them.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He'll be missed greatly by all those who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.

Those who shared in his life:
Wife Rosie; children: Kyle (Bobbi) Dickinson, Heather (Fiancé Derek Thorson) Dickinson, Brandon (Fiancée Kelly Brown), all of Surrey, ND; three grandchildren: Morgan, Easton, and "one on the way"; mother Audrey Dickinson, Minot; brothers: Daniel (Peggy) Dickinson, Surrey, Jeff (Mary) Dickinson, Bismarck, ND; sisters: Sue Garrabrandt, Columbus, OH, Sherry (Jim) Engel, Surrey ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Bill was preceded in death by this father Eugene, brother Tim, sister Kathryn, paternal and maternal grandparents.
