Cleve DeTienne 1927 - 2004

Cleve DeTienne, 76, Inverness, Fl., formerly of Minot, died June 10, 2004 in Inverness.

He was born December 13, 1927 to B.H. and Nora (Olmstead) DeTienne on the family farm near Van Hook in Mountrail County. He attended a country school near the farm and later attended Van Hook High School.

He served in the US Army in the occupational forces in the Philippines.

In October of 1950 he married Jeanice Holst in Minot, ND. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was head usher and taught confirmation class. Cleve and Jeanice had three children.

Cleve worked as a salesman for John Iverson Co., Northern Bottling and Granite Springs and was a blockman for Standard Oil Co. He purchased the Standard Oil Station in Granville, ND. He managed several gas stations in Minot. He later sold cars for about 15 years, working at Don Moe Dodge, Honest John and the Volkswagen Garage.

Cleve and Jeanice were divorced in September of 1978. He married Evelyn Murphy Oster in 1979, and they lived in Florida. She died in 1986. On February 11, 1987, he married Judy Gullo. During most of his years in Florida, he and his wife managed mobile home courts.

Survivors: Wife, Judy, Inverness, Fl; son, Jerome (Rhonda) DeTienne, Roulett, TX, daughters, Jeana (Pat) Walsh, Minot, Carla (Fred) Slagle, Rangely, CO, nine grandchildren, Jesse and Jacob DeTienne, Shanda (John) Williams, Stacy and Jim Walsh, Mandy (Russell) Anthon, Dustin, Torie and Tessa Slagle; three great grandchildren, brothers, Delvin (Ardis) DeTienne, New Town and Earl (Rhonda) DeTienne, Bottineau; sisters, Lena Rose Drosdal, Lavonne (Jack) Erickson, Adele Atkinson, Calif. A number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Olaf Drosdal.

His memorial service will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. There will be no visitation or reviewal.

Burial will be at a later time at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
