Duane D. Derheim 1939 - 2010 Duane was born November 14, 1939 in McClusky, ND, a son of Fred and Lena (Schimmelpfennig) Derheim. In 1951, they moved to Minot where he attended Minot Public Schools and graduated from Minot High School in 1957. In 1957, he enlisted into the United States National Guard and transferred to the U.S. Navy on January 16, 1959. Duane proudly served his country aboard the USS Mitscher (DL-2) until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1963. Duane was united in marriage to Sandra Bondly in August 1964. They moved to Seattle, WA, where he attended computer school and worked for Boeing Co. They returned to Minot and he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired as Post Master of Sherwood, ND in August 1992. Duane is survived by his sons: Charles “Chad” Derheim, Seattle, WA, Darren Derheim, Minot, and Ryan (Tracey) Derheim, Minot; daughter, Brandee Derheim, Minot; nine grandchildren: Amanda, Alexus, Austin, Garrett, Adam, Wesley, Seyth, Gavin and Grayson; brothers, Fritz (Beth) Derheim, Sun Lake, AZ, Darvin (Jean) Derheim, Seattle, and Harold (Marion) Derheim, Seattle; sisters, Anita Crites, Henderson, NV, Millie Bailey, Henderson, NV, and Fran (Ron) Saunders, Salt Lake City, UT; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Duane was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however, friends may sign a register book on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 9 am until noon at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Graveside Service: Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1 pm at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
