Larry A. Demke 1941- 2006 Larry was born January 27, 1941 in Goodrich, ND to Robert and Lydia (Hertz) Demke. He was raised in Goodrich and graduated from Goodrich High School. He later attended and graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. He was once married to Mary Ann Jacobson. They were married September 9, 1967 in Maxbass, ND, and to that union three sons were born. Following their marriage they moved to Minot where he worked at Sweetheart Bakery, and Home of Economy. He later lived in New Rockford and Oklahoma where he worked as a hired hand for area ranchers. In 1976 he returned to North Dakota and settled on a farm near Maxbass. Larry's passion was horses. He raised Quarter Horses and was a horse judge for many years until ill health forced him to retire in 2003. In 2003 he entered ManorCare Health Services in Minot, where he since had lived. Larry attended First Assembly of God Church, Minot. He was a former member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Paint Horse Association, and their state affiliates. Those who shared in his life: Sons, Paul Demke, San Diego, CA, and Rick (Chela) Demke, Minot; two grandchildren, Emma and Jack Demke, Minot; sister, Delores (Lloyd) Axt, McClusky; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Demke in 1983; his parents, Robert and Lydia, and a brother, Cecil Demke. Memorial Service: Friday, September 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book Friday one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial: A private family graveside service will be held at the Goodrich cemetery. Officiant : Rev.
